Lastly, check out a fabulous review of the recent Toronto concert by Soo Yeun, with some nice pictures!

16.05.08 was the newly set date of the TH concert since the postponing of the tour due to Bill’s vocal problems. Set at the Sound Academy in downtown Toronto, the concert was filled to the door (or at least felt like it), and was VERY crowded. There were no seats, which I was half expecting, but was disappointed since my seat numbers were written on the ticket. IF there were seats, I’d have gotten to sit near the front, but NO, instead I had to be sandwiched between 7 people that I did not know. Now, MAYBE I could bear that a little, but being just a little over 5 feet doesn’t help when there are tall people in front of me.

People could not breathe; many people fainted and were crushed by others. First, my friends and I had to wait in a line outside for more than an hour or so; more and more people were coming into the venue, but the concert would not start. The people fainting, crying, having seizures, etc, started all BEFORE the performance even started. Now, these hands, these heads in the pictures were not the heads and hands of my friends. That is how bad and crowded my view was. I thought: I paid this much to be in conditions like this? This place should really have seats. I need to get to the front~ When are they going to start? I dressed up in cool clothing, did my hair and makeup, and my favorite shoes, and for what? I’m not even close enough or tall enough to be seen…And I am really, really hot. But I was able to withstand this with one thing in mind… I have come to see Bill and the rest of Tokio Hotel.

And of course, the band started with their radio hit, Ready, Set, Go. It was amazing to see them live, in person, for the first time, and Bill singing again! It was total chaos, and people disregarding how squished others were, decided to start jumping up and down when the chorus was sung. I realized that I too was jumping…. I was not jumping, I was being sent up and down along with the crowd! My glasses being knocked off and my bag kicked down to my legs, I was shocked at what I was going through, and my only reaction was I MUST CAPTURE BILL ON MY CAMERA! (My camera does not have an ON button; it is a slide on-and-off. So during the song, I accidentally turned it off a few times during filming, which resulted in me having 5 clips for one song.

Now, as I said, I am way too short to see over people’s hands. About ¾ of the time I had to watch the show from my tiny camera screen, straining my neck and on my tiptoes for the whole hour and something minutes. I rarely got to see Bill, but when I did, it was amazing. The group was so much hotter in person, but I wished I could have been able to get close to them. I tried to get at least one glance of eye-contact with Bill, but futile, I setback to trying to be seen by anyone coming near the part of the stage I was near. But I might have been glanced at by them. Chaos all around me, and people saying “HE LOOKED AT ME,” I didn’t really know what was going on. Just hoped, is he looking at me? Oh please look at me, look at me being squished and struggling to see you!

Tokio Hotel played 13 songs in total, and they were all great. Even throughout all the chaos, I believe this was a good experience. It was really fun, although many of us did get somewhat hurt. This was my experience at the Tokio Hotel concert, and look forward to the next Toronto one to come in the future (Not the near future, since they are all booked till next year, but someday). I’m sure, we, all TH fans will wait for them to come by with heartfelt longing. I cannot describe how good it was to see Bill singing and healthy again as before.
